Clay Merches

Clay has over 25 years experience  improving all segments of the organization including safety and human resources, operations and maintenance. He has proven results working with all fleet sizes from 20 trucks to over 4,000.

Clay received his B.S. degree from Harding University with an emphasis in business law.  He continued his education at Harding and received his M.B.A with an emphasis in leadership and management.  Later he earned his C.D.S. through the North American Transportation Management Institute.  He continues to be a mentor for other safety professionals that want to further their knowledge in safety and management.

He has received multiple national fleet safety awards including 3rd place awards in the TCA national fleet safety contest in 2002 and 2013. In 2015 he received an Innovators award for his unique approach in obtaining improvements in safety and maintenance. Clay speaks at industry events regarding Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, improving fleet safety programs, and industry best practices.

With a unique and proactive perspective, Clay is able to achieve significant reductions in crash frequency and severity, reduced CSA violations and upgraded or improved safety ratings.

 

Kevin Blackwell

Kevin began his career in transportation in 1999 starting in the wash bay of a nationwide motor carrier.  His passion for knowledge moved him through the ranks of the industry gaining a well-rounded appreciation for all aspects of the transportation business.  This led to several leadership roles with large and small carriers alike.  Kevin also founded his own trucking company from the first truck.

These experiences give Kevin the ability to advise in a multitude of areas beyond safety including recruiting, insurance, claims management, cost reduction, permitting, and company structure.  With focus on proactive, process management, Kevin is able to produce significant improvements throughout your company.  

From large, complex carriers to private fleets, Kevin has represented transportation providers of all types and sizes with matters from permitting and compliance, to recruiting, environmental issues, maintenance and more. After assisting in several compliance reviews and other agency audits, thousands in fine and civil penalties have been saved and satisfactory ratings either maintained or restored.
